wow. they say when it rains it pours…. After such a drought though, it doesn’t take much ‘water’ to make one feel overwhelmed. I’ve got a for sure job lined up at Denny’s #6027 in Big Spring, TX as the General Manager and an offer from a local photographer to work for/with him. I’ve also received a call from a recruiter for another restaurant that would require me to move to the Dallas area. All three have their pro’s and con’s. Now the only thing left for me to do is pick between them (assuming that the recruiter turns into a job offer). DFW has more opportunities for living life and the restaurant sounds like it would have a better quality of life. Mainly, they close at night so I don’t have to worry about ever getting called at 3am to go cook. I could get called at 3am by the alarm company but that’s a totally different thing. Plus, they would be paying me the same amount to be an Associate Manager as Denny’s is willing to pay me to be General Manager! Same pay, less responsibility, more upward mobility. sounds great huh? Well, so far its only a recruiter and they don’t pay you. The photographer position would be doing something I love to do, but the work is seasonal and isn’t gauranteed. So… it could be great, could have fun, could be flat broke the entire time… I think I’d rather just do offsite retouching for him and help him with the computer area of it. Oh well.. Don’t have to make a decision immediately. It’ll keep for a bit I suppose.
