I’d had some problems with my cook earlier that night so when he went outside to smoke and I heard a banging, I thought it was him. He of course probably thought I was crazy because I kept looking at him through the window and making strange gestures to try and communicate, “what do you want?”
finally I happened to be looking at him when I heard the noise and realized, it’s coming from the bathroom!
i’m concerned at this point. The wall is shaking from the force of the blows and this banging has been going on for at least five minutes. Either whoever is in there is trying to beat his way through the wall or he’s giving birth to a rhino.
As I enter the restroom and call out “are you ok?” the only other occupant turns towards me from where he’s facing the closet and says, “they locked me in here”
the best part is that then he turned back and banged two more times before he realized what he was doing.
the two doors are next to each other

My mother has conspired to destroy my finances.shoes.jpg

No seriously, I used to buy all of my shoes at Wal-Mart. I’ve been doing this for years. Except for a few pairs of shoes (that are now 10 years old) just about everything I’ve ever put on my feet has come from Walmart.

Then in 2005 I’m talking about my knees and back hurting when I get off work and my mom lets me try on her oversized pair of Spira Wavesprings. I run around the store in them and I’m hooked. I steal that pair and have since worn the sole’s completely through on that pair and two other pairs. Now workin on my fourth pair of Spiras (not cheap) I’ve had to give in further and get Birkenstock inserts for those because my last job involved standing in one spot for hours at a time.

Now, I understand the concept behind Birkenstock and know that it molds your feet back into a “natural” position. But now it hurts to walk barefoot and even new shoes make my feet cramp up! I can understand now how my mom can just stand up in a pair of shoes and immediately go, “no!”. I do it too.

Thanks mom, you could have at least gotten me hooked on chocolate truffles… wait, you did that too.

Sitting up here at Denny’s drinking my coffee. Just shook hands with the GM at this unit. Reminds me of the GM from Odessa.
Got here quite a bit early. Didn’t know how long it would take to get here (and to be true I still don’t know how long it will take with traffic) so I ended up arriving about 25 minutes early.
the only cotton on my body right now is this damned oxford style shirt that is 60% cotton. Don’t like the feel of it but can’t be helped for now. Best to go lax on that and just make sure I keep a decent undershirt on and regard the dress shirts as disposable. Speaking from experience, once I get into the kitchen they will be.
Thinking hard about renting washer/dryers. For one, I don’t have to worry about them breaking. Secondly I don’t have to haul them up the stairs. To install them someone’s going to have to remove the sliding glass door. Opens not even as wide as my shoulders and I’m not that big a guy.
Just one more thing to consider…
