According to Mr Pfeifer of the San Angelo Catholic Diocese:
pornography is an evil that should not be tolerated, and that all good citizens must use every effort, even political and legal means, to eradicate this cancer from our society.
really? How about getting your priorities straight first.
While I understand your position on pornography, perhaps the Catholic church could better spend its time focusing attention on human rights abuses abroad, or problems in our own backyard, or maybe even stopping the government from engaging in endless occupation of foreign countries.
Or perhaps, simply take some personal responsibility!!!!
yeah, I know it’s not polite in today’s society to ask people to be responsible for their actions, but if pornography is causing you to sin, stop watching it!
if you’re concerned about your children reading Playboy, stop keeping a copy of it in your bathroom.
If you want to make sure they don’t download it from the internet:
- monitor their usage of the computer
- get the damned computer out of their room you lazy “parent”
If you are worried about them watching “filth” on broadcast tv, stop using the TV as a co-parent / babysitter and spend some time with your kids instead.
but no… all of those require you to do something yourselves and you are too lazy to be responsible. You want to have your personal morality inflicted upon the world by a totalitarian regime through the passage of “protect the children” laws that strip us of our rights and freedoms.
perhaps we should censor all sexual and erotic literature.
