really, the only good things i can say about his entire speech was that someone actually managed to get a tie on him before he walked out the door, and he was able to make it through the entire speech without lighting up.
other than that, it was lies, deceit, mischaracterization, and rhetorical manipulations as per usual whenever his teleprompter is running.
Out of the typical 2 hours and 54 minutes of the average NFL broadcast, a whole 11 minutes actually feature live game action. So next time you want to call out soccer or baseball fans for following a sport where nothing happens, you might want to tend to your own garden.
Steve Job’s Fanboys are redefining “good” presentation skills:
Steve Jobs is probably one of the most polished presenters in the world. He doesn’t use any bullet points in his presentations, his keynote addresses are free of any jargon, there are very few words in the slides but they have photographs and headlines that are hard to forget
his headlines are hard to forget because the people that attend these are only slightly less rabid than die-hard linux fanboys.
Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said that officers took Jules Paul Bouloute, the man believed to have caused the breach, into custody about 11 p.m.
I added the italics. If the man is only believed to have done something wrong, that is to say he stands only accused, not convicted. Does anyone else think that the names of accused should be kept out of the media until they have at least been indicted?
Mr. Coleman said there was no threat because everyone was being rescreened
That’s great, all the people were rescreened. Did they comb the terminal though? look in every single place possible to secret a device that could later be picked up by a newly re-screened passenger? Doubt it.
So great job NY Port Authority. you managed to knock the entire globes air schedules out of whack, inconvenience hundreds of people in one terminal and thousands across the world, and in the end? you did absolutely nothing to improve security.
The Tea Parties were spinoff’s of the End The Fed rallys originally begun by Ron Paul supporters and other (generally libertarian minded) individuals upset about the growth of government during Obama’s and Bush’s administrations. The original founders pulled no punches exposing the excesses of either party because, to a large degree, there isn’t any difference between the two.
Now these ultra-conservative people are taking over and acting as if they speak also for the middle. It’s disgusting.
But not nearly as disgusting as all the people, on the left and the right, who eat it up!
I keep seeing this huge debate going on over “Health Insurance”. People have this crazy notion that everyone is entitled to affordable health insurance and that they furthermore, have a right to health care.
Unfortunately, people also seem to have a very warped idea of the basic purpose of insurance which is to spread risk. Many, chiefly Obama, want to spread risk by forcing younger healthy people who don’t use health serves to pay for the older sicker people who are demanding services at a huge discount. I have car insurance. It doesn’t pay for gas, oil, wind-shield wiper fluid, or even new tires. Similiarly, health insurance should not be expected to cover all of your diabetes testing supplies, every flu shot you get, or your annual checkup.
